What are the typical foods of Ustica?
The Restaurant of the Hotel Village Spalmatore proposes every day, typical food alternating with the delicacies of the regional cuisine of Italy.
The typical dishes of Ustica are, of course related to fish and the products of the rich soul of the island.
Just to make a few example, among the first fish-based dishes we can found: the renowned pasta with sardines, ravioli with fish, stewed, spaghetti with anchovies and toasted breadcrumbs (often used for the finishing of the dishes in Sicilian cuisine) or with squid or still with scorpion fish, fish soup and lobster in soup.
However, about based on fish you can enjoy delicious roulades of swordfish in bread crumbs, the swordfish to the sicilian, meatballs of tuna or sardines, and the classic fried paranza or squid and prawns and the tartare of fish.
You can even choose in the dishes “of earth” in which a place of honor have definitely the aubergines, for example with the eggplant parmesan, pasta alla norma, aubergine meatballs but we also have the caponata, the pasta with wild fennel and meatballs all typesof meatballs – beans, fennel, lentils…
